Effective 3 September 2026 · Last updated 3 September 2026
The short version: Lunchboxly keeps your lunch plans on your own device. We don't have accounts, we don't run a server that stores your data, and we don't sell anything to anyone.
Delete the app and your data goes with it.
This policy explains how Lunchboxly ("we", "us") handles personal information in the Lunchboxly mobile app. It applies to the app only, not to any other site or service you might reach from it.
We don't collect personal information from you. Lunchboxly has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server that receives what you enter.
What you create in the app — lunch plans, saved meals, food preferences, allergy notes, your children's names or nicknames if you enter them — is stored locally on your device. We can't see it, and it isn't transmitted to us.
When you download Lunchboxly from the App Store, Apple provides us with aggregated statistics about downloads, crashes, and general app usage. This comes to us as summary numbers, not as information about you individually, and we can't use it to identify you. Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
If you contact us by email, we'll have whatever you choose to tell us, and we'll keep it only as long as needed to sort out your question.
The aggregated App Store data tells us whether the app is working and roughly how many people are using it. That's the whole purpose. We use it to fix bugs and decide what to build next.
Nobody. We don't sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.
We would only ever disclose information if we were required to by Australian law, and we'd tell you unless we were legally prevented from doing so.
On your phone or tablet. If you have iCloud Backup switched on, your device backup may include Lunchboxly's data — that's handled by Apple under your iCloud settings, and we have no access to it.
Delete the app from your device and everything Lunchboxly stored goes with it. There's no account to close and nothing for us to erase on our end.
You can also clear individual plans and saved meals inside the app at any time.
Because your information stays on your device, its security depends mainly on your device's own protections — your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and keeping iOS up to date. We'd encourage you to use all three.
Lunchboxly is designed for parents and carers, not for children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
You may enter details about your children when planning lunches — names, ages, food allergies. That information stays on your device and never reaches us.
Australian privacy law gives you the right to ask what personal information an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected, and to complain if you think it's been mishandled.
Because we don't hold personal information about you, there's usually nothing for us to give you or correct. If you think we've got something wrong, email us and we'll look into it.
If you're not happy with how we respond, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
If we add features that change how information is handled — cloud sync, accounts, or analytics — we'll update this policy and change the date at the top. For anything significant, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
